Fastest-rising baby names of 2025

These names climbed the most places in the US rankings between 2024 and 2025, among names in the top 1,000 for 2025. Klarity rose 1,396 places for girls, to #791, and Kasai rose 1,108 places for boys, to #639.

Big jumps happen most lower in the list, where a few hundred more babies move a name hundreds of places. That is why the table also shows the births: Rynlee (100 → 359), Ailanny (105 → 280) and Naylani (110 → 296) are typical.

Together the 50 girls’ names and 50 boys’ names listed went from 28,595 babies in 2024 to 47,278 in 2025. The median climb was 211 places for girls and 190 for boys, and 8 of the girls’ names and 8 of the boys’ names now rank inside the top 500. The largest gain in births was Eithan, from 1,599 to 3,636.

A rise in one year is not a trend on its own. The sparklines show each name since 1880, so you can tell a steady climb from a one-year bump.
