About childow

The free, parent-owned record of a child’s growth and development, from choosing the name to age 12.

childow does two things at the two moments every family meets. Before birth, it helps partners choose a name together, with real Social Security popularity data on every card. After birth, it keeps a growth and milestone record that picks the right standard for the child’s age (WHO from birth to 2, CDC from 2), explains itself in plain sentences and prints a one-page report for the checkup.

Every computed number names its source and the date we fetched it. We use public datasets from CDC, WHO (as published by CDC), the Social Security Administration, CPSC, NHTSA and the ECTA Center, and we write our own explanations. Fictional examples are always labelled as samples.

childow is not a medical service and never diagnoses. When guidance applies, it is CDC’s and AAP’s, and the advice is to talk to your pediatrician. Our promises about ads, data and email are in the pledge.
